Bring solar power to the devices

Every time we think of solar power, we imagine an array of solar panels to power all our electronic devices. However, it could be actually easier to convert the devices themselves to use solar energy. This is not new, we all know of solar calculators and garden lights. I just took a look at SolarGardenPro.com at PRWeb, which offer a few of this kind of cheap solar devices. I always liked solar garden lights and I do have one myself. You just have to be careful to buy one that is good and actually lights something.
It would be nice to see other ideas, other devices using solar as their energy source. I've seen lamps, calculators, battery chargers but I'm sure there is room for a lot more.

Make a cheap solar panel

I found this interesting video that shows how a solar panel is made. It's a little bit of work but my guess is that it will be worth. And if you already like to build things for yourself, then it's a win-win scenario. Still, you don't build it completely. You still have to buy the solar cell modules.

I'm hoping that with this green-momentum somenone finds a cheaper alternative to a solar cell. It would be great to find a DIY projecto to make a solar cell replacement. Even with less efficiency, it might be worth it.
